When was the last time you visited a make believe world?
By callipygos | February 8, 2008
I’ve watched “Bridge to Terabithia” a few times over the past few months - its on Starz this month, I think it was on Cinemax last month.
Have you seen it? Its a great movie. One of the things that strikes me as wonderfully whimsical about the movie is the children’s imaginations.
I wonder at what point we lose the ability to use our imaginations as fully as children do. Why must adults squelch the ability to “Imagine” in children?
Children should be fanciful and full of make believe worlds. Remember this. Children are our own link to the important things - the things that make us feel good. Try not to squelch their creativity. This innocence, creativity and the make believe worlds they create are the things that keep us sane if we allow them to take us on a journey into their imagines.
I’ll catch ya later, I’m off to have a picnic with the fairies.
